In all honesty, I would be happy dining at any of the above restaurants for whatever the occasion.
We haven't gotten to a lot of the smaller places, though we did try out the Spotted Calf late last year. I think it was an off night. The "bisque with crispy pancetta" was a thin broth with gummy lumps of fatty lardons that sank to the bottom. The burger was mostly sauce and the creme brule was actually burnt. The salad was wonderful, though. But I've heard so much positive feedback about it that I want to back and give them another try.
